There are numerous ways you can get to Eshamy Bay Lodge in Prince William Sound, Alaska:
You can take the magnificent Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Whittier, enjoying some stunning views along Turnagain Arm and through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, the longest (2.5 miles) highway tunnel in North America. This tunnel is one lane only and is shared by cars and trains traveling in both directions, alternating directions every half hour.
Your train tickets can be added to your package for your convenience and booked through us!
Or you can drive from Anchorage (or anywhere in the state for that matter) to Whittier, through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel.
Tunnel times are:
From the Anchorage side to Whittier, traffic runs every hour on the half hour from 5:30am to 10:30 pm.
From the Whittier side to Anchorage, traffic runs every hour on the hour from 6am to 11pm.
Allow at least an hour to get from Anchorage to the tunnel and try to be at the tunnel at least 10 minutes before it opens. (Hours are slightly less in the winter so check their website for updates.)
Tunnel fees: $13 per private vehicle round trip.
Parking fees in Whittier: $10 a day / 24 hour period.
Fly from Anchorage to Eshamy Bay Lodge in a float plane:
This service is available departing from Lake Hood in Anchorage. We work with some great float plane companies and can add this service to your total package and book the trip for you.
Although this is a more expensive way of getting to Eshamy Bay Lodge, it can be a beautiful way to see Prince William Sound.
