Depart Whittier at 2 pm for a scenic 90-minute boat ride through pristine Prince William Sound. If wildlife viewing opportunities present themselves, Captain Duke will take the time to stop for you to observe these incredible creatures.
Kayaks are available for all guests for the entire duration of the stay. Explore the nearby Eshamy Lagoon for a peaceful look into the natural beauty of Prince William Sound. These protected waters are perfect for beginners and advanced kayakers alike. Travel through the small islands and waterways while keeping a lookout for Sea Otters and Eagles. The noiseless travel is perfect for a close encounter so bring your camera!
Take a break at Eshamy Creek for a short hike on a trail running parallel to the water which ends at Eshamy Lake. Freshwater fishing is available here and the Cutthroat trout are feisty this time of year. Bring your freshwater gear and kick it up a notch! Enjoy your provided packed lunch at either the lake or creek base before starting your journey back. Once your day has ended, return to Eshamy Bay Lodge for a hot shower and relax on the large deck with appetizers before dinner is served.
Hike right from the lodge for more exploration of the area or kayak to another creek neighboring our land. Our remote location provides endless opportunities to get a closer look at the natural beauty of the Alaskan coastal wilderness.
Fresh spot prawns make an exquisite appetizer! A delicious dinner will be served each night with plentiful sides accompanying the main course. Options like hand cut steaks, pork loin, fresh local fish, homemade mashed potatoes, pasta, fresh vegetables, and salads are a common occurrence. Make sure to save room for dessert as Pamela’s own delectable Chocolate Mousse or Apple crisp will be the sure to leave you feeling pampered. Let us know your dietary needs and we can alter the menu accordingly.
Breakfast will be just as satisfying with enticing menus such as quiche, omelets, pancakes, french toast, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, fried potatoes, toast, and more. A packed lunch will be prepared for you to take for your day’s adventure to enjoy at your leisure. Beverages like juice, soda, water, coffee, and tea will be provided throughout your stay and as part of your meals.
